Ministries Currently Hiring

At the previous Ministry Outreach Fair, many visitors asked whether any of the parachurch ministries were hiring. That brought to our attention something we had not previously considered. When partnering individuals with local ministries, our focus had primarily been on volunteer opportunities rather than employment opportunities.

With that in mind, we have now added a new tab at the top of our website that will continually feature up-to-date ministry job opportunities both locally and globally.

Who are we?

Family Hope is a collaboration of area churches providing supportive relationships for isolated families. We are a Christian non-profit operating through our team of trained and vetted volunteers who offer temporary hosting of children, connections and guidance for parents, and a bridge to family stability. Our volunteers bring HOPE to vulnerable families through the redemptive love of Jesus.

One mom’s story...

Late one week in 2024, Family Hope received a call from a mother, Jasmine, sayingthat she was currently living with her two children, ages 19 months and 5 months, in her car. She was requesting hosting for both children urgently due to concerns that they would enter foster care if she did not make a safe plan for them until she could obtain housing. By 5pm that evening, two host families and a staff member met with Jasmine and her children to receive them into hosting. Within days, it became clear that the 5 month old was struggling with his health more than we realized. Jasmine expressed that she was overwhelmed and was even considering adoption because of his needs. She was ecstatic to learn, however, that his host parents were both medically trained, one as a NICU nurse and the other as a pediatrician. Together, Jasmine and the host family worked together to support his care by sharing medical appointments and getting services needed in place. Over the course of the next six weeks, Jasmine was able to see her children and speak to the hosts regularly to check on them, while she worked hard to make a housing plan. She met with a Family Hope coach weekly, building trust and getting supportive referral and case management with her goals. When she was ready to receive her children back into her care full-time and hosting ended, Jasmine not only had safe housing, but a new family-like support system that has remained in place for over a year. She speaks to her host families regularly and keeps us updated on both the joys and challenges of being a mom. As a result, Jasmine and her family are stronger today because of the support she received and the hard work that enabled her to reach her goals.

Interested in knowing more?

We are looking for volunteers in Johnson County to join us in wrapping around vulnerable families. Volunteer opportunities include being trained as a host family, a support friend to provide ie. transportation or a meal for the host family, coach for mom, or a church liaison supporting the host family while they are caring for a child.
